See Why Everyone's Trippin' Over Vine Street's New 'Hood Saison'π
Kansas City, MO β [January 24, 2024] β The streets of Kansas City are buzzing with the latest creation from Vine Street Brewing Co. β the Hood Saison. This new brew captures the essence of the neighborhood: vibrant, bold, and full of life. It's a Saison that brings the heat with a perfect blend of spice and fruitiness, a true reflection of the rich tapestry that is Kansas City's heart and soul.
Spicy aromas meet tropical notes to create a taste profile as complex and dynamic as the district it hails from. "The Hood Saison is a beer that tells a story with every sip β it's the narrative of our streets, our struggles, and our victories," says Kemet Coleman, co-founder of Vine Street Brewing Co. "It's brewed right here on the block, and it's packed with layers that will intrigue and delight you."
The Name
The Hood Saison is indeed one of the most anticipated releases from Missouri's first Black-owned brewery, and it does not disappoint. The brewery's Beer Star, Jamel "Rockwell" Williams named the beer during an episode of his podcast, The Lawnarchy, while interviewing Coleman. Upon tasting the freshly canned, unlabeled, unnamed brew crafted by Woodie Bonds and Elliott Ivory, Williams instantly knew it deserved a name as charismatic as its flavor β thus, The Hood Saison was born.
The Artwork
"We're stoked about the release of the Hood Saison and the buzz it's already generating in the community," shares Matt Wegerer, owner and creative director at Whiskey Design, the creative powerhouse behind the beer's label art. "The artwork is, obviously, a spin on the classic painting American Gothic by Grant Wood. But we also baked in nods to local legend Thomas Hart Benton, the Kansas City Kings and the origins of Saison-style beer - all done with a Vine Street twist."
The label is a colorful and lively portrait of Kansas City, paying homage to Benton's fluid, curved style and the urban landscape that Vine Street Brewing Co. calls home. "This label represents our journey, our neighborhood, and our love for the craft," adds Coleman.
Availability
Starting this Thursday, the Hood Saison will be available on draft at Vine Streetβs taproom. Join us in the taproom between 12 to 9 PM to savor a glass, or take home a four-pack of this iconic brew. It's a taste of the Vine, a tribute to our roots, and a toast to our future.
