Music Isn't Free. Here's How We're Keeping It Alive at Vine Street.

 18th & Vine wasn’t built on quiet background noise. It was built on live music.

Since we opened Vine Street Brewing Co., our goal hasn’t just been to pour great beer. It’s been to be a real anchor for this neighborhood. And you can’t anchor 18th & Vine without live music.

But here is the reality of the brewery industry: the traditional model of “free live music” treats artists like a free amenity. It either quietly drains the venue, or it severely underpays the talent. To date, we have spent over $87,000 on live music and entertainment from beer sales alone. We are proud of that investment, but nothing matters if it can’t sustain itself. We want to pay musicians what they are worth, and we want to keep bringing strong talent into the Groove Room and onto our stage.

So we are changing how we do things.

Moving forward, for most live music events at Vine Street, we are adding a $10 live music charge directly to your tab. That money pays the artists. For any tabs that are kept open during performance times, the $10 cover charge will be automatically applied.

Our Wednesday Office Hours jazz lab stays free of charge as a community event.

But we aren’t just passing a fee. We want to reward you for supporting local culture. So when that $10 live music charge hits your tab, your first beer is 50% off.

You support the band, and we help with the beer.
